What It Is
Wheels take a beating — curb rash, brake dust, road grime and Houston heat. Powder coating a wheel starts with stripping the old finish and blasting the wheel to bare metal so the new powder bonds clean. We fix curb rash and corrosion before coating, then cure the powder in the oven for a hard, even finish that is easier to clean than paint. Tires come off before coating and go back on after. Beyond wheels, we coat calipers, valve covers, intake parts, brackets, bumpers, running boards and suspension parts, and we do the blasting and coating side of classic car restoration — car frame sandblasting, chassis and suspension parts and wheel refinishing for project cars. Drop-off, pick-up and delivery details are confirmed when the job is booked.

Why This Matters in Houston
Wheels and car parts in Houston face brake dust, road grime, heat and the city's strong custom-car and wheel culture. Humid air speeds up corrosion on chipped wheels, and salt air from Galveston Bay reaches the southeast side, including Clear Lake, so coated wheels near the coast take extra wear. Houston's big custom-car and wheel scene means a lot of wheels get refinished for looks and protection.
Care & Prevention Tips
Clean brake dust off coated wheels with a pH-neutral wheel cleaner and a soft brush, and avoid acidic cleaners that can dull the finish. Rinse salt and road grime off after trips to the coast. General guidance only.

Is this the right fit?
The right method is decided after we see the item or surface. Some items may not suit a given process — for example thin sheet metal, plastic, glass, rubber or cast parts that may warp, pit or outgas, or items with lead paint that need special handling. Tell us what you have and we will point you to the right process.
Cost to Powder Coat Wheels
What drives the cost is the wheel size, the condition, curb rash and corrosion, the finish, the number of colors, and tire removal and remounting. A clean, small wheel in a single standard color costs less than a large wheel with curb rash in a two-stage candy finish. We quote the set after we see it.
Wheel Finishes
Popular finishes include gloss black, satin, bronze, gunmetal, candy and prismatic color-shift finishes, and chrome-look powder. Chrome-look powder is a chrome-effect finish — it is not real chrome or chrome plating. Prismatic finishes shift color as the wheel turns, for a candy-style look. We help you pick a finish that fits the wheel and how you drive.
Car Frame Sandblasting & Chassis Parts
For project cars we blast car frames and chassis and suspension parts to bare metal so a new coating bonds clean. A stripped frame on stands is the right starting point for a lasting finish.
The Blasting & Coating Side of Classic Car Restoration
We work alongside owners and car restoration shops on frames, suspension, brackets and wheels. We do the blasting and coating — we are not a full car restoration shop. Houston has a strong custom-car and wheel culture, and we are glad to be part of that work in general terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to powder coat wheels?
Most wheel sets take a few business days, but the real time depends on the wheel size, the condition, how much old finish and curb rash has to come off, the finish and how many colors. We give you a turnaround when we quote the set.
Can you powder coat wheels with the tires on?
No. The tires have to come off so the whole wheel can be stripped, blasted and coated, and so the powder can cure in the oven. We remove the tires before coating and remount them after.
Is powder coat better than paint for wheels?
For most wheels, yes. A cured powder coat is thicker and harder than most liquid paint, resists brake dust and chips better, and is easier to clean. Paint can still make sense for some looks or repairs. We help you pick based on the wheel and how you drive.
