What It Is
Industrial sandblasting is blast-cleaning for businesses. We prep structural steel before coating, blast-clean to standards including SA 2.5, remove heavy paint and rust from equipment, and blast fleet trucks, tanks, skids and fabricated steel. It is the main page for paint stripping and rust removal blasting, and for preparing surfaces for industrial coatings or powder coating. Houston's port, ship channel and energy work mean a lot of structural steel, heavy equipment, work trucks and fleets, and that metal rusts in our humid air. We can blast at your yard or plant, or take the work at the shop. Quotes are set after we see the scope and the condition.

Why This Matters in Houston
Houston's port, the Houston Ship Channel and the region's energy, petrochemical and manufacturing work mean a lot of structural steel, heavy equipment, work trucks and fleets — and humid air speeds up corrosion on all of it. Hurricanes and tropical storms, including Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and Hurricane Beryl in 2024, left equipment and fleets rusting. Paint on homes, brick or metal from before 1978 may contain lead — older painted surfaces may need to be tested for lead and handled under the rules that apply before blasting.
Care & Prevention Tips
Keep up with a coating maintenance plan on steel and equipment so rust does not come back. Coat blasted steel soon so flash rust does not start. General guidance only.

Is this the right fit?
The right method is decided after we see the item or surface. Some items may not suit a given process — for example thin sheet metal, plastic, glass, rubber or cast parts that may warp, pit or outgas, or items with lead paint that need special handling. Tell us what you have and we will point you to the right process.

Blast-Cleaning Grades
We blast to the grade the spec calls for, including SA 2.5 near-white metal. The grade sets how clean the surface has to be before coating, and we match it to the job and the coating that follows.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is SA 2.5 in blasting?
SA 2.5 is a grade from the ISO 8501-1 standard meaning very thorough blast cleaning: at least 95% of the surface is free of visible mill scale, rust, paint and foreign matter, leaving only light stains. It is often called near-white metal and is roughly equivalent to SSPC-SP 10 / NACE No. 2. We blast to that grade when the spec calls for it.
Can you blast equipment at our yard or plant?
Yes. We can bring mobile blasting to your yard or plant for equipment, steel and fleets that are hard to move, or take smaller fabrications at the shop. We confirm access and containment when we quote it.
Do you work on fleet vehicles on a schedule?
Yes. We can set up fleet truck blasting on a schedule so your trucks stay coated and protected. Tell us the fleet size and the cadence you want, and we will work out a plan.
