General Information
The content on this website is general information about powder coating and abrasive blasting. It is not professional advice for your specific item or surface. The right process, media, pressure, finish and price are confirmed only after we inspect the item or surface in person or in photos.
No Set Specs or Lifespans
We do not state specific heat ratings, mil thicknesses, lifespans in exact years, or oven temperatures as promises. General ranges and "depends on" explanations are for guidance only. How long a finish lasts depends on the part, the finish, the weather it sees, and how it is cared for.
Care and Prevention Tips
Care and prevention tips on this site are general guidance, not instructions for your specific item. The right care depends on the part, the finish and how it is used.
Surface Suitability
Sandblasting and other blasting methods are not safe for every surface. Softer surfaces such as wood, brick, stone, aluminum and fiberglass need the right media and pressure, and the method is chosen after seeing the job. Some items may not suit a given process.
Lead Paint
Paint on homes, brick or metal from before 1978 may contain lead, which is common in older Houston neighborhoods. Older painted surfaces may need to be tested for lead and handled under the rules that apply. We never suggest blasting lead paint without precautions.
No Affiliation
We are not affiliated with any powder, paint, abrasive, blasting-equipment or coating brand or manufacturer. "Prismatic" is used as a general word for color-shift and candy-style finishes, not as a brand name. Chrome-look powder is a chrome-effect finish, not real chrome or chrome plating.
